the Debs-Jones-Douglass Institute
DJDI is the non-profit
501(c)(3) educational and cultural arm of the Labor Party. Named for
labor champions Eugene V. Debs, Mother
Jones and Frederick Douglass, DJDI's
mission is to assist in the establishment of a society in which equality
of opportunity and citizenship is assured, through providing education
using the fullest range of methods, curricula and delivery systems.
DJDI is the inspiration of the late Tony Mazzocchi,
whose leadership, vision and passion continues to inspire our work.
DJDI projects include includes educational and cultural projects on
health care, higher education,
occupational health and safety and genetics.
It has sponsored national radio call-in programs and the DC
Labor FilmFest.
The LABORPARTY,
founded in 1996, is a national organization made up of international
unions and thousands of local unions (representing over 2 million workers),
worker supportive organizations and individual members. The Labor Party
represents the concerns of working people on issues such as trade, health
care, and the rights to organize, bargain and strike.
